Foden DG Gardner 5LW 3 Way tipper lorry. 1935/36. Runs and drives. 1999CC. Chassis No-17162.
This lorry started life with A. Nott Quarries fitted with its 5 Cylinder Gardner engine and 4 Speed gearbox it was designed to carry 7/8 Tonne. The lorry also pulled a trailer to carry a further 7/8 Tonne. It was then used in the last war by the MOD in the construction of Chivenor Aerodrome. Furthermore, in the 1950's the lorry was laid to rest in Bray Valley Quarry. Then in the 1970's the lorry was restored to its current condition by local craftsmen. This meant it could meet present Stringet plating regulations so it could carry its original 7/8 Tonne payload. Reg. BOD 792. V5
